Maximize detection of chemiluminescent and other low-signal samples
A cooled CCD camera combined with the light-tight FOTO/FX Benchtop Darkroom and extended integration software allow you to maximize exposure times for low-light chemiluminescent samples. In addition, a raised platform brings your sample as close to the imaging source as possible, increasing sensitivity while limiting distortion.
A wide array of lighting options
The Luminary/FX features transillumination and epi-illumination with a variety of emission options: multi-wavelength UV, white, blue, and more. Combined with the sensitivity of a CCD camera and our large-format transilluminators, this gives you the flexibility to capture images of many different lab samples. Acquire, print, and store photos of gels, microassay plates, fluorescent and colorimetric blots, TLC plates, bacterial plates and many other types of samples.
Hands-free motorized zoom lens with intuitive control
Focus, zoom in and out, and adjust the iris without ever reaching for the camera lens! These functions are easily controlled by clicking your computer mouse.
Data Storage flexibility
Files can be archived in various file formats, including TIF and BMP, to preserve data integrity for down stream analysis.
Convenient Benchtop Darkroom
The FOTO/FX benchtop darkroom features a gliding transilluminator platform and side-opening door with interlock to provide convenient and safe operation of our large-format FOTO/Flex transilluminators. Two interior white epi-light panels allow easy focusing even illumination of opaque samples such as blots and bacterial colonies. Additional dual UV epi-lights can be used to optimize sensitivity of samples stained with a variety of fluorescent dyes. The unique Lumi/Tray, designed specifically for work with chemiluminescence, lets you position your blot close to the camera for maximum sensitivity.

SYBR® Green Imaging:
Between 40 and 60 pg of SYBR® Green-stained DNA.
Ethidium Bromide Imaging:
Between 80 and 100 pg of ethidium bromide-stained DNA.
Chemiluminescent Imaging:
As little as 300 pg of biotinylated protein by primary detection in a Western blot (developed with SuperSignal West Dura chemiluminescent substrate). As little as 10 pg of DIG-labels DNA in a Southern dot blot and 10 ng in a Southern Blot (developed with CDP-Star chemiluminescent substrate).
