Large Format FOTO/Flex™ Convertible Dual Light Transilluminators

Available in Single and Dual UV Wavelength Configurations

The FOTO/Flex Convertible Transilluminator uses electroluminescent (EL) technology to give you two transilluminators in one.

This large format transilluminator combines a 28 x 25 cm UV viewing surface and a 28 x 25 cm white light viewing surface in a single, space-saving 38 x 33 cm footprint.

Ideal for electronic imaging applications, EL illumination, allows the white light intensity to be more uniform than virtually any other white light transilluminator or conversion panel available. In addition, a continuously adjustable white light dimmer switch gives you more flexibility and control when imaging protein gels and autorads.

What are Electroluminescent Lamps?
Electroluminescent (EL) lamps are based on ultra-thin phosphor layers which glow when exposed to electrical current.  This produces soft, even illumination without glare.  EL lamps generate no heat under normal operating conditions, have extremely low power draw, are virtually shock proof and are not subject to catastrophic failure.  Because EL lamps do not require a gas field to charge (like fluorescent bulbs), they do not contain hazardous mercury vapor.  All these characteristics make EL lamps ideal for gel imaging and analysis.
