Simple, flexible, durable
FOTO/Analyst Luminary FX Workstations are designed to let you acquire, print and store digital images of chemiluminescent, fluorescent, and visible-light samples. In seconds, you can obtain picogram-level sensitivity of DNA, RNA and protein gels and blots.
Maximize detection of chemiluminescent and other low-signal samples
A cooled CCD camera combined with the light-tight FOTO/FX benchtop darkroom and extended integration software allow you to maximize exposure times for chemiluminescent western blots and other low-light samples. In addition, a raised platform brings your sample as close to the imaging source as possible, increasing sensitivity while limiting distortion.
A wide array of lighting options for gel documentation, fluorescent multiplexing and more
The Luminary/FX features transillumination and epi-illumination with a variety of fluorescent and visible excitation options: multi-wavelength UV, white, red, green, blue, and near-IR. This gives you the flexibility to capture images of many types of samples, including gels, microassay plates, fluorescent and colorimetric blots, TLC plates, bacterial plates, and other applications.
Hands-free motorized zoom lens and filter selection with intuitive control
Focus, zoom in and out, adjust the iris, and change filters without ever reaching for the camera lens. Using the motorized zoom lens and filter wheel, these functions are easily controlled by clicking your computer mouse.
Simplicity in image acquisition and data storage
Luminary workstations feature intuitive FOTO/Analyst PC Image acquisition software with an easily accessible, no-nonsense image capture window for quickly obtaining prints and digital files. Simply click on the live image icon for real-time framing and focusing with the motorized zoom lens. To detect faint bands, use the continuously-refreshing expose button and view intensity changes as you adjust exposure times. Files can be archived in various formats, including TIF and BMP, to preserve data integrity for downstream analysis.
Complete solutions
Each workstation includes your choice of cooled CCD camera, benchtop darkroom with hands-free zoom lens, imaging filters, chemiluminescent sample tray, image acquisition software, and choice of transilluminator. You can also choose workstations with thermal printers, analysis software and computers. All Luminary components are designed to maximize simplicity without sacrificing flexibility and durability.
